The Challenge
The skills of its own employees are the success factor of any company. Our client, a telecommunications company, wants to promote its employees in the best possible way and support them in making targeted use of their skills and strengths.
In order to realize the vision of a skill-driven company, our client needed a user-friendly solution for recording and analyzing employee skills. Together, we developed an innovative system that uses artificial intelligence to extract skills from various sources, supports learning objectives and optimally fills internal positions.
The challenge
A centralized application was needed to optimally fill internal positions and promote employees in a targeted manner. Solutions already in use proved to be less user-friendly, which led to a low level of acceptance.
Our solution
At the start of the project, a big-picture workshop was held to define the strategic goals and requirements. The application was then developed using an agile approach with two-week sprint cycles. Detailed wireframes and UX designs were created to ensure an intuitive and easy-to-use interface. At the same time, we analyzed the requirements together with the customer and implemented them with a combination of technical consulting and development.
A central element of the project was the integration of an AI-supported backend that automatically extracts skills from various sources. The collected data was stored and processed in a PostgreSQL database. In addition, the application was optimized through usability tests to ensure a high level of user-friendliness.
The entire infrastructure was designed to be scalable and flexibly expandable so that future requirements can be easily integrated.
The result
Our customer can now record employees' skills in a transparent and structured way. The smart "Skills Ecosystem" solution automatically analyzes skills from CVs, LinkedIn profiles or manual entries and presents them in a clear platform. With the help of the AI technology "Textkernel", similar skills can be recognized and suitable learning and job recommendations can be generated. In this way, the system supports employees in developing their skills in a targeted manner and at the same time makes it easier to fill positions internally.
The application also provides a central point of contact for learning courses, job offers and individual development opportunities. This significantly reduces the administrative workload for HR and organizational teams, while employees can actively manage their careers.
The result is a powerful, user-friendly and scalable solution that supports the company in optimally deploying and developing its employees.
