🧡 Hy, ready for a Polish holiday? 🇵🇱
As part of our Cultural Month, we’re celebrating the traditions and vibes that shape everyday life at our Hyand location in Wrocław. From holidays to habits – here’s what brings our team together outside of code.
🕯️ All Saints‘ Day (Nov 1)
A quiet and touching tradition. Families visit cemeteries and light candles for their loved ones. In the evening, the whole cemetery glows – peaceful and powerful.
🌟 Christmas Eve (Dec 24 – Wigilia)
The most important day of the season. Families share a wafer (opłatek), wait for the first star, and enjoy a 12-dish dinner (without meat!). Cozy, meaningful, full of heart.
🍩 Fat Thursday (Tłusty Czwartek)
Yes, we have a day dedicated to donuts. No guilt, no rules – just pączki everywhere. Offices, homes, bakeries – everyone joins in. 🍩
🔮 Andrzejki (Nov 29)
Old-school fortune telling meets modern party vibes. From wax pouring to guessing games – it’s all about a little mystery and a lot of fun.
🎂 Name Days (Imieniny)
Besides birthdays, many Poles also celebrate their Name Day – often with cake, flowers, and small surprises. It’s a sweet way to show appreciation and joy, even „just because.“
🤝 Bonus: Friendship, Polish style
Poles bond over shared stories, heartfelt rants, and late-night laughter. It’s not always loud – but always real.
Because true friendship here means: “We’re in this together.”
