Central control for secure and compliant deletion of personal data
The Challenge
The customer, a Swiss bank, was faced with the task of identifying and classifying personal identifying data from over 100 applications and then securely anonymizing or deleting it. The information was spread across numerous tables and columns. The implementation had to be carried out efficiently, securely and within a tight timeframe without affecting system performance.
Our solution
We quickly developed a deletion framework that automatically anonymizes and deletes personal data in a complex data model.
The framework offers:
- Audit functions for transparent tracking of every deletion process
- Clear logging of the status and results
- Robust error and exception handling mechanisms to ensure data integrity
Customers control the framework centrally via an interface developed with Oracle APEX and receive an intuitive visualization of the activities. The decentralized deletion logic enables precise processing without complicated or difficult-to-maintain code.
The customer now complies with the stricter Swiss data protection regulations and can carry out erasure processes securely, consistently and without system failures. The solution saves resources, protects system performance even with large volumes of data and prevents unintentional data loss. Thanks to the rapid integration of the four experienced Hyand employees, the internal team was able to meet its tight deadline and focus on other business-critical tasks at the same time.
