Process optimization through central sales planning tool
The Challenge
For our client, an international logistics company, we developed a customized sales planning tool using low-code in just five months. For global companies, the annual sales planning process is a time-consuming and costly task. In many cases, the large amount of data is processed manually. Combining the various files from different markets and countries requires the utmost care to avoid errors. To optimize this process, our client was looking for a uniform, reliable, and centralized solution. Additional requirements included the integration of budget planning and quick and easy management of user rights.
Our solution
Our project team decided to use the low-code platform Oracle APEX. The finished solution is two applications in one: the tool supports the independent processing of two areas (customer- and sales-specific). It is based on a central database that is filled with data and top-down specifications via a flexible, customizable input mask. Thanks to efficient collaboration with our client's employees and the use of the low-code APEX platform, the tool was completed by two developers in just five months after the project started. Conventional development would have quickly taken at least three times as much time and resources.
The result
The logistics company now has a clear tool at hand to automate the sales planning process. All employees worldwide use a standardized dashboard and can access the sales planning tool centrally based on their assigned rights and tasks. The company shortens the entire planning process and potential errors when merging data are virtually eliminated. The simple handling of low-code allows the continued operation and further development of the tool even without in-depth IT knowledge.
