Various chemical agents are used in agriculture, which are regularly checked by the respective state authorities to ensure that the limit values for chemical substances in adjacent rivers are complied with. This data is freely available as open data. Companies that sell crop protection products previously had to laboriously collect the available data from public databases and evaluate it manually.
The sheer volume and complexity of the data sets as well as the different specifications of the limit values presented the companies with major challenges. A lot of time and personnel were required for a meaningful analysis, and there was usually no history of the data already collected.
A customer from the chemical industry was therefore looking for a simple and clear solution for displaying and monitoring data in order to be able to react promptly and appropriately if necessary.
Today, the smart IT solution uses grabbers to automatically collect the relevant data from public databases, store it in a separate database and process it. Our customer's employees are shown all relevant information at a glance on an intuitive dashboard.
The measuring points supplied also allow integration of the measurement results on the basis of stored maps. Each measured value is displayed in a simple color scale - separated by region and automatically adjusted to the respective permitted limit value. If the proportion of a substance is still within the permitted tolerance range in one country but not in another region, the system automatically adjusts the color. In this way, the inspectors have all the necessary data at a glance at all times - in addition to the "historical" course of the pollution trend.
Our customer from the chemical industry can now use the new IT solution to efficiently monitor water quality in its sales territories. The automated data collection and processing saves time and personnel costs. The intuitive dashboard enables the relevant data to be checked quickly and clearly, and the color-coded display of measured values by region and limit values makes monitoring easier.
The integration of historical data allows inspectors to track developments and trends and ensures that they can react promptly and appropriately to limit violations. The system currently collects data from Europe, Australia and the USA and thus offers a comprehensive solution for the water and agricultural sectors.
