The chemical company EnviroChemie was faced with the challenge of efficiently monitoring and controlling the dosing of chemicals for optimal wastewater treatment. Previous methods required manual sampling and analysis at each stage of the process, which was time-consuming and labor-intensive, while providing insufficient data for effective wastewater treatment. Particularly problematic was the varying quality of the feed water, which made it difficult to achieve optimum chemical adjustment. In addition, the previous methods were based on random samples, which prevented continuous monitoring.
Hyand presented a smart solution based on real-time monitoring using IoT sensor technology as well as image recognition and evaluation. The analysis of this data is continuously adjusted by intelligent control of the chemical supply using machine learning.
Whereas previously only one image per day was taken and analyzed for each process step, the new system provides regular data at short intervals for evaluation via permanently installed sensors and industrial cameras. The artificial intelligence automatically regulates the addition or reduction of chemicals in the wastewater treatment process based on the analyzed images. The company's employees can keep an eye on the entire wastewater treatment process at all times via a customized dashboard.
All relevant data is displayed in real time, and irregularities can be detected immediately and counteracted accordingly.
With the introduction of Hyand Solutions' AI-supported real-time monitoring, EnviroChemie was able to significantly improve the efficiency and accuracy of wastewater treatment. The system enables continuous monitoring and automatic adjustment of the chemical supply, which optimizes resource consumption and reduces personnel costs.
Real-time data integration and the use of predictive analytics provide a sound basis for fast decision-making processes.
The solution was awarded first place at the Achema Innovation Challenge for its outstanding performance in the field of predictive maintenance in water management, underlining the innovative power and applicability of this technology.
