Smart solution for radiation protection training and certificates
The Challenge
When it comes to radiation protection, companies must ensure that their employees are regularly trained and that all legally required inspections, such as equipment checks, are carried out on time. Compliance with deadlines prevents potential fines.
The training institute Haus der Technik e. V. wanted to offer its own employees as well as its customers real added value: With a digital solution that enables them to manage their own employees, training certificates, briefings and equipment easily and securely - independently of internal systems. This gave rise to the idea of Radiation Protection+, a tool that digitizes radiation protection processes in companies in the long term, reduces administrative effort and helps those responsible to maintain an overview at all times.
Our solution
This was based on workshops, requirements analyses and user research, including contextual inquiry and user testing, in order to gain a precise understanding of user processes. A prototype was created based on validated wireflows, which was further developed in iterative steps and optimized through usability tests. The project was managed in an agile manner according to Scrum, with regular exchanges on technical requirements on the customer side.
The result
The new solution allows Haus der Technik e. V. to keep track of all certificates, instructions and device tests at all times. Employees can manage their documents easily and managers have a clear status of individuals or groups. Deadlines are automatically reminded, meaning the team spends less time on administrative tasks. At the same time, the solution ensures that legal requirements are reliably met. Automatic support for document uploads has significantly accelerated work processes and minimized sources of error. Azure Documents Intelligence AI supports the maintenance of documents by reading keywords when the document is uploaded and filling fields automatically.
